Wing Tsjun Kung Fu School of Self Defense

Moral Thinking

Learning self defence techniques is not the only thing we teach as part of our curriculum for kids classes. The instructors also emphasize on conveying of moral values such as honesty, loyalty, integrity and discipline. Every student gets a monthly assignment on morality, which he must complete at home and have signed by his or her parents.

The parents are urged to work along, to actively play a part in reaching the main goal of the Kung-Fu class:

A general positive shift in behaviour for the future!

Personality development through Kung-Fu

Regardless whether your child sometimes seems too active or too quiet, Kung-Fu training has a balancing effect on the students. The children learn, however, that sometimes one has to "box oneself through" and they obtain the necessary means to do so, but they are also taught that the techniques they learn are only to be applied in need and that, as Kung-Fu fighters, they are to see themselves as helpers of those in need.

Thus, Kung-Fu offers a wonderful channeling of energy, which allows you to burn some energy or charge yourself up.

The Kung-Fu program is based on a concept of lifelong learning enriched with technical abilities.

Below are listed some extracts from the monthly topics:

  • Friendship
  • Perseverance
  • Self-control
  • Trust
  • Self-criticism
  • Politeness
  • Confidence
  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Self-esteem

Through positive behaviour and correctly dealing with assignments, the children obtain the "Wing Tsjun achievement badge" which they attach to their Kung Fu suit.

For special achievements within the Kung Fu group at school or at home, they are awarded a Wing Tsjun International badge to awaken the longing for reachable goals in the child and to link this with positive experiences, a quality which can positively and decisively contribute to their later development.

In general, our classes are devided in age groups, with the Mini Dragons aged 4 to 7 years old and the Dragons aged 8-11 years old.
